DIYs to Surprise Your Mom With

It’s already Wednesday. Mother’s Day is in just four days and if you haven’t planned a special event for your mom yet, these DIY ideas will be of great help. Maybe you want to host a brunch, or step outside for a picnic? Or you just need to decorate your gift wrap. Take a look at these DIYs to spruce up your mom’s Sunday.

Jordan of Oh Happy Day teamed up with Cool Whip to create this easy to make picnic basket. Alexis Birkmeyer developed a free downloadable template for these baskets. Aside from that, all you need is heavy paper, scissors, and your hands! Head over to Oh Happy Day for instructions.

Joy of Oh Joy! shared a tutorial created by Courtney from Merriment Events, showing us how to make floral straws. It looks pretty easy and super cute. I’m sure all the moms will love it!

You are going to need a coaster to put that drink on. Diane Pham for Inhabitat showed us how to make our own Scrabble Coasters. You can get creative here. The coasters can say anything you want them to!

Now you just have to dress up that gift wrap. Check out these Origami Bows made of magazine pages. Jessica of How About Organge followed these instructions, and she did a fantastic job! She really made it her own by using magazine pages instead of origami paper. I’m going to try to make these with newpaper.
