Design Spotlights: Flexible Folding Chair

I have something a little different for today’s Design Spotlights. I was stumbling on stumbleupon and came across this video. I was pretty amazed. When I read the title, Flexible Folding Chair, and started watching the video, I wasn’t sure what to expect. How would this chair fold? It doesn’t look flexible at first. But keep watching and you see the slinky-like chair take on many different shapes. I think this “chair’ can also be used as a sofa! I’m impressed.

The user who posted this on youtube says they found the chair on This is Green. Although I wasn’t able to find it on the website or blog, I’m pretty sure it is made of cardboard. What do you think of this environmentally friendly, adjustable chair?

Whoa, that’s pretty awesome! I wonder how much weight it can handle and whether it’s coated with something for waterproofing. Notice no one sat on it too long. Great idea. Loving your posts Tina, your site is great!
