Being a freelancer is really scary. While there are many perks to the job, making your own hours, deciding which jobs to take and which to refuse, there are even more hurdles. I saw this video on The Different Brain and really wanted to re-share it with you. The video features a woman in New York offering to pay others $5 to draw a sketch for her. After the sketch is complete, she refuses to pay the money, stating that the drawing is substandard and does not meet her requirements. The video is actually promoting a website Docracy / DontGetsSrewedOver.com which offer open source legal documents. The video did a good job of making its point. But for me, it really reinforced how hard it is to work for yourself. And even though many of us are in creative fields, the video reminds us that we have to wear many hats and never forget that we are running businesses. Ok, now for the entertaining video!
