I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for romantic comedies. I become engrossed very quickly and must watch films until the end, even if I know what’s going to happen. Lucky for me, I have no idea how Target’s short film is going to end! Target has produced a short film that’s divided into 4 episodes, Falling For You, that are shoppable!
What does shoppable mean? On the ride side of the film there is a shopping bar that links to everything in the film, clothing, beauty products and even home goods! I was worried about clicking on the items, as it may take me away from the film. Target’s thought it through very well. During the film you simply favorite the items you love and you can go back to your favorites later.
Target has done a fabulous job staging. It’s always nice to see a product in a room or on a person so you can get a good idea of what it really looks like. Although many of us can imagine how clothes will look on us, it’s harder when it comes to products for the home. I love some of the decorative items in Amanda’s apartment!
This is a brilliant idea. I would never have sat through 3 three-minute long commercials. I’m the person that changes the channel immediately when a commercial hits the screen. But I have to admit, this movie has gotten me to sit through all this product placement and not flinch. I’m even looking forward to the last episodes, which airs today at 7:45 pm EST.
The film stars Kristen Bell, Zachary Abel, and Nia Long and is directed by Phil Abraham (Mad Men!). Watch the trailer:
Have you watched the film? What do you think of all this product placement? Does it make it easier for you to see what the items look like?
