Restaurant design is a true art form. As a designer, I immediately know when I walk into a space if it’s well designed. Without even taking time to examine the details I feel either very comfortable or very uncomfortable. When I saw the images of DiVino Wine Bar in Budapest I knew it was a great design. The space was designed by Suto Interior Architects, also located in Budapest.
Kata Suto and Lazlo Suto are the owners of Suto Interior Architects. They’ve created a young and fresh look for DiVino, which fits well with their concept. DiVino is geared towards first and second generation winemakers, many of whom are under the age of 30. (Sounds delicious!)
The space was designed with dark colors of gray and black. It uses a mix of materials including concrete and pine. The pine is used not just on the furniture but on the wall and millwork details as well.
As you enter the space there is a large wall of pine cubes which displays a large number of wine bottles. The pine warms up the dark space and the wine bottle wall adds alot of character.
I wish I were on my way to Budapest. I’d love to visit this wine bar!
