It’s been a rough couple of days here in New York – Hurricane Sandy has affected many of us. Ajay and I lost power and hot water and have been taken in by great friends. Yes, it sucks that we’ve been uprooted but we are all so lucky to be in this resilient city with wonderful friends and family.
I’m a bit tired and haven’t been able to put together a Design Spotlights post for you. Yesterday the buses were running but subways were still out. We had to cab to and from work and sit through hours of traffic. On the way back to our friend’s apartment last night we ended up walking a few blocks through the Upper East Side and walked right into many halloween festivities! The kids were adorable and so happy to be celebrating. The spirit was high, and of course I had to snap a few pictures. Halloween was the perfect way to wrap up the storm. I’m ready for things to get back to normal!
Did you get to celebrate Halloween? What was your costume?

Glad that things are moving along and getting SLOWLY back to normal, whatever that is. NYC is so resilient in the face of anything and everything.
The girl was a unicorn and we had our usual almost 300 kids at the door last night. The neighbours have a party before trick-or-treating every year which is fun too. We kind of go all out decorating the yard – giant 6′ moving inflatable cat, scary music – the works. All good fun.
