Celebrate the Holidays in… Barcelona with Eclectic Trends

Are you ready to take another trip? We’re now in Barcelona with Gudy of Eclectic Trends. Gudy is an interior stylist and she also travels and teaches visual merchandising. She has a fabulous eye and I’m excited she’s showing us her favorites in Barcelona today. Barcelona is one my favorite cities, it’s so gorgeous and full of life. Please show Gudy some love – comment here and visit her blog!

Where do you live?

Barcelona, Spain.

What is your blog about?

Being an Interior Stylist, my blog Eclectic Trends reflects pretty much my lifestyle with a true passion for mix’n match interiors, my hometown Barcelona and lots of travel treasures found along the way.

What do you love about your city?

Basically the light! Being located at the Mediterranean coast, you have like 300 days/year sunshine which influences our lifestyle in any sense.

What is your favorite holiday site in your town?

Definitely the Christmas lighting in the streets! They are so elegant and festive.

What is your must have holiday food in your town and where is it from?

Turrones. The typically Christmas dessert is made of honey, sugar, and egg white, with toasted almonds or other nuts, often chocolate-coated and usually shaped into a rectangular heavy tablet.

What is your must have holiday beverage in your town and where is it from?

Mulled wine which I get from IKEA adding some extra spices since we do not have it here on the Christmas markets (just not the right climate).

What is your favorite spot for a night out during the holidays?

We use to have international gospel concerts in town during December. It is the perfect event to get you in the right holidays mood.

What is your city’s unique holiday tradition?

La cabalgata, the Epiphany parade which commemorates the arrival of the Three Kings who cross town on big chariots and throw candies to all children (and adults) near-by.

What is your goal for the New Year?

Consolidate travels and interior styling projects on an international level.

Lovely to get a taste of the holiday season in Barcelona. Turrones sound absolutely divine. sunshine also sound so appealing as it is so overcast and raining here in London.
