Blanco’s latest product launch at IMM Cologne

Yesterday I told you about our first night in Cologne, an amazing dinner sponsored by Blanco at the German Sports & Olympics Museum. Well, the next morning we got down to business. Blanco invited us to breakfast at the Radisson Blu and told us about their new products we were about to see shortly. It was really informative, and I’m glad we got to learn about everything before IMM because once we got there we were pretty overwhelmed!

The Blanco booth was more than just a booth; it was more like ¼ of the floor! It was filled with sinks, faucets and complete with a waterfall! My eyes were darting from product to product, not sure where to look! It’s not just eye candy with Blanco, though. Everything they’ve put forward is innovative, and is designed to make consumers’ lives easier. That is key. Each new item was designed with ease of use in mind.

Blanco’s newest sink is the MODEX. It sits 3” above the countertop and drains in two directions. What does this mean? MODEX includes a removable ash cutting board. Below the board is a slight slope. Any unwanted liquid or food can be brushed to the slope, which will fall right into the sink. No mess! My biggest complaint while cooking is the cleanup. This will save a lot of clean up time!

Blanco has also designed a new sink color, which is my personal favorite, Cinder. It’s a dark grey with hints of brown that resembles a stone look. I know New Yorkers will love it, I do!

Of course there are some great new faucets we have to look forward to this year. My favorite, Blanco Hot, is not yet available in the United States. (Cross your fingers!) It’s called Blanco Hot, and the insta-hot in integrated into the faucet. Genius!

There are others that are super cool as well. One is the retractable faucet, which is ideal for minimalistic kitchens. When not in use, the faucet can fold back into the sink, creating a clutter free countertop. How many times can I say genius?!

I have to point out one last thing about Blanco’s new products. They’ve developed a Hygenic+Plus formula that is available in the Silgranit sinks. The formula is anti-bacterial and is a shield against dirt and bacteria. The Silgranit sinks are non porous so water beads right off, dries up quickly, and bacteria can’t get in. We’re all a little more careful these days of what we put into our bodies, as we should be. It’s nice to know we can invest in a sink that’s working to our benefit.

With so many great new products by Blanco, it’s hard for me to choose my favorite. I’d love to know, which new Blanco product are you most excited about?

  2. Grrr, your security code prevents me from commenting via my phone. I also loved these particular products, especially the HOT system. Way cool…or hot. But good. I hope it comes to the US in 2013 or 2014, at the latest.
