You may have heard the announcement last month, Pantone has released it’s color of the year for 2013. This year’s color is Emerald Green! I’ve really started to love this color in the past few months, I think it will be fantastic in this year to come. We’ve been through a lot recently, from hurricane’s to crazy fiscal cliff negotiations. We really need something to revive us, and I think Pantone did a great job in picking the perfect color to life our spirits.
“The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”
Emerald green looks great against most skin colors, so it’s going to be a huge hit in fashion. But what about interiors? It’s a classic color that can be seen throughout interiors in history. It’s very rich and has a pleasing jewel tone quality. Even if you’re not a green lover, I can see many loving the emerald in their home. Here are a few examples:

I love the colour. When I was in college I had it as an accent colour. Wish I hadn’t thrown away all those accessories.

This is great. Typically green has never been my color of choice….but recently picked up emerald green (also some neon green) accent pieces. Now I feel uber trendy after reading your post. Rarely I get to say I am trending.

I’m surprised by how much I love those pictures! I’m loving the color for sure. I can’t say I had any clue what the new color would be, but I’m quite happy with their selection.
