I’ve been a fan of Miele for quite some time now. (Their dishwashers are so quiet!) I was thrilled when I found out they were one of the sponsors of BlogTour Cologne. Miele is a renowned brand that makes usable products – products that fit the needs of consumers. The German company has been around for over 100 years, founded in 1899. The reason they’ve lasted and excelled for this long is because they are constantly looking ahead. Their motto says it all: Design for Life.
At IMM and Living Kitchen we were lucky enough to be invited to a one hour presentation at the Miele cafe, where we learned about their latest launch, Generation 6000. Generation 6000 is comprised of two product lines, PureLine and ContourLine. The two lines have different finish options but have something very exciting in common. All appliances can be interchanged between the two. This means whichever line you choose, you can have your pick of microwave, steam oven, coffee maker, etc. This streamlined approach is sure to make kitchen design easier!
Two new appliance features that caught my attention were the MultiSteam and the CupSensor. I love my coffee, so when I heard about the cup/rim detector, I was immediately sold. The cup sensor detects the height of your cup and automatically adjusts it’s spout height. This prevents splatter, which is a great feature in itself, and it adds the perfect amount of cream. The cup sensor also allows the coffee to stay hot longer. No spill + delicious, hot coffee = Win-Win.
Like many of you I try to eat pretty healthy. Yes, I drink a lot of coffee and eat a few too many chocolates, but I make up for that by eating well most days of the week. That’s why I was interested in Miele’s newest steam technology, MultiSteam. Steam ovens are pretty fabulous, but in my busy New York life I don’t always have time to wait for my food to be steamed. The MultiSteam technology allows for faster heat up times. Heating time is now reduced by 30%! The Miele steam cookers also cook food with a combination of dry, radiant and moisture. (We got to try this out first hand when we ate at the Miele cafe the next day, but more on that later.)
I’m pretty excited to see Miele’s Generation 6000 launch here in the United States. Of course there’s so much more I didn’t mention, like the new FlexiLight and the new M Touch controls. Head over to Miele to learn more. Which feature are you most excited about? What will make the most difference in your life?

Hi Tina, it looks great to me. I especially like that oven…

Hi Tina,
I loved the new Miele range and that coffee machine is just fantastic. My husband would love it. He gets so annoyed that our double espresso cups don’t fit under the spout of our current machine. You spill half the coffee just trying to get the damn cup out again. This would be a dream!! Great post!! xx
