Yellow may be my favorite color of all time. It’s definitely the color I’m drawn to right now. I came across this sitting area in a yellow bedroom designed by Sarah Richardson, which blew me away! Sarah was asked to team up with her brother Theo of Rich, Brilliant, Willing for a segment at an interior design show entitled “Sibling Revelry”. The result was a gorgeous bedroom filled with shades of yellow.
I love the seating area in the room, that has a few touches of yellow and appears bright and inviting. The panelling on the wall creates a traditional look, but when it’s paired with contemporary pieces such as the Saarinen side table, geometric art piece and patterned pillow the look becomes more transitional. The large side table with its interesting pattern and levels adds visual interest to the space.
Here’s how you can get the look:

- Black vase from Sasaki
- Selamat chaise lounge from Wayfair
- Saarinen tulip table from Linens n Things
- Tangier accent pillow from Horchow
- Jewel accent table from Horchow
