{Design Crush Mondays} Hotel Telegraaf in Tallinn, Estonia

I feel very fortunate to have been able to stay in gorgeous hotels on my recent trip. In Tallinn we stayed at Hotel Telegraaf, located right in the old town. As soon as Ajay and I walked into the lobby we were blown away. It was stunning! I felt as though we were in another era, a time when luxury was an experience.

The building has a long history, which began in 1878. Originally a bank, then a home, floors were added and then destroyed  In 2005 the building was restored to what we see today. The building was once used as the Telegraph center of the Republik of Estonia, which is where the name comes from today.

The shades of blacks and grays in the lobby create a romantic feeling. The space is lit by extravagant floor lamps with hanging crystals. Because the lamps are so grand you almost forget they are floor lamps, they appear to be chandeliers. The lobby is also home to a small bar area where guests and visitors can have a drink, before having a meal at Restaurant Tchaikovsky, which has been ranked 2nd best in fine dining in Estonia.

On our way up to our room we noticed the gorgeous stair rails.

We fell in love with our room, which had two small balconies facing the old town and beyond. We were on a high floor so we could see the tops of the medieval roofs as well as the more modern city. The room itself was in the same style as the lobby. It had luxe details mixed with modern elements, like a bright red mirror. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on!

We had a fabulous time in Tallinn, and really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Telegraaf. I have a major design crush on the Telegraaf and will definitely be back!
