Hi, it’s Sarah from Live The Life You Dream About with this month’s Style from Day to Night. This month we’re visiting the Story Hotel in Stockholm. Located in Ostermalm district, the Story Hotel’s modern interiors stand in contrast against the building’s historic architecture. The hotel’s overall vibe is modern with eclectic elements that feel a little bit Victorian. Plum crushed velvet upholstery and oriental rugs and mixed with Scandinavian pieces as well antique tufted chaises.
For the Story Hotel’s fashion looks I was inspired by the Victorian element of the hotel’s decor, for day as well as night. For day a classic blazer in an unexpected pastel yellow is layered over a ruffled lace turtleneck. Styling includes a printed clutch and a a sleek center-parted ponytail. For the transition to night, a menswear-style black blazer is layered over a white starched-collar button down shirt, with a plum bow tie as an accent. For both outfits, jewelry is omitted altogether, worn with natural makeup. The Story Hotel is similarly minimally accessorized, in keeping with the modern ambiance.
Which one is your favorite? Is the daytime or nighttime style closer to your own? Now that you’ve got your fashion fix, head over to Tina’s post on LTLYDA for your dose of design hotels.
