Our first stop on the BlogTour Day of Design hosted by Sarah and I was at Treillage by Bunny Williams and John Rosselli. The couple is adorable and when the two of them walked into the store the bloggers were going wild. To hear Bunny talk, and John chime in with stories and comments, is really something. We were in awe of the talented duo and their wonderful store.
Bunny and John shop for everything together one trips around the country and around the world. They don’t have things that they look for specifically. They look for items that are unique, one of a kind, that move them.
Treillage was one an old horse carriage house, where wealthy New Yorkers in the surrounding area kept their horses. John was using part of the space for a studio, and convinced Bunny that this would be the perfect place for their shop. They have the original glass doors at the front of the space, and while renovating, uncovered a skylight. The two have created a welcoming, friendly environment filled with so many gorgeous things.
We were told that there is much more to be sold. The store is filled with as much as possible, but there are more John + Bunny finds waiting in a storage container, ready to be placed in the store as soon as there is room.
I was thrilled that Treillage has created a bridal and gift registry and then I was pretty upset. If only they had created this 5 years ago when I was getting married! Imagine, registering for things you really really want, that you’ll treasure forever, instead of that blender. I might use the registry for my next big birthday instead.
If you’re planning on visiting New York in the near future, you must make a stop at Treillage. It’s really a wonderful shop!
