It’s Design Week (and Design Month!) here in New York and I’ve been visiting tons of small shops and pop ups that are participating this year. While Shinola was not an official participants, I’ve always loved this store so I decided to pop in and see what was happening this weekend.
Shinola is primarily a leather based company, located in Detroit. The company prides itself on creating things by hand, and because of this provides high quality products like watches, bikes, furniture pieces and more.
Shinola opened their Tribeca Flagship Store a little while ago. A small cafe is located at the front of the store and the retail store is located in the back. I was thrilled to see several faceted planters available right now. Shinola has picked up on the faceted trend and our recent need for planters and greenery in the home.
In addition to large furniture items and signature watches, Shinola has smaller items and unique finds that I’m drawn too. I loved the copper sticker bookmarks and fabric chess board that can be folded and taken almost anywhere.
If you’re in Tribeca or if you’re looking for a unique gift for yourself or a friend, Shinola is the place to go! It’s located at 177 Franklin Street.
