Galeria Melissa is one of my favorite Soho shops, not only for the shoes but because of their constantly changing interior which hosts unique installations on a regular basis. I loved this black and white interior last summer, and I visited the flagship store in Sao Paolo in September 2012. SOFTlab, a New York City design studio, recently creative a unique and show-stopping installation at the Soho location of Galeria Melissa.
To celebrate the “We Are Flowers” collection by Melissa SOFTlab created an enchanting flower garden inside the store using over 20,000 translucent flowers.
The “trees” were created using a mylar net which was made with over 4,000 pieces. The pieces were hung in an organic way and decorated with thousands of petals in a natural arrangement.
The video says it all!
This isn’t SOFTlab’s first installation of this kind. They are known for their large, avant garde creations such as the Designer Werktag 2012 and CHROMAesthesiae. What do you think of the colorful installation? I sort of love it, and I have a serious Design Crush!
