Professional Life

I am a full time interior designer in New York, New York. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors of Interior Design from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. I love Philadelphia!! I worked at Frank & Marcotullio Design Associates for three years, focusing on commercial interiors. I have been at Vicente Wolf Associates for over four years now, working on high end residential interiors. I feel really lucky to have been able to experience both residential and commercial design at boutique firms where I have been able to learn the ins and outs of the business.

Blog Life

I started Life in Sketch as a way to share ideas and products. There are many inspiring spaces I see and tips I develop that are useful and I want to share them with the world! I work in an environment where I get to experience many aspects of design, and here, on Life in Sketch, I get to combine my design thoughts and share them with you. I also travel quite a bit and I am fortunate to live in one of the best cities in the world. I often see things in my everday life and in  my travels that are share-worthy.

I try to post something everyday, if not multiple times a day. I have a few regular columns, and I am hoping to expand. I am always looking for guest posts so feel free to contact me if you have a great idea you would like to share! I am also open to exchanging links on the blog roll. Columns

{Design Crush Mondays} *New column* We’re kicking off each week with a new column, Design Crush Mondays. Every Monday I’ll share a new space that will serve as your inspiration throughout the week.

{Thursdays} Every Thursday you will see Design Spotlights. I highlight a few items that have caught my eye throughout the week. This can be anything from furniture, lighting, accessories or even stationery. I love stationery!

{Fridays} I try to take a pictures throughout the week of beautiful things as well as city scapes. I take tons of pictures of my favorite city, New York. Each Friday you will see Foto Friday {plus} Links of the Week. I post a picture I have taken that week and my favorite links from other bloggers and sources.

{Bi-Monthly} I recently started a new column that will run every two weeks, called Shop This Room. I’m frequently asked how to achieve certain looks. In Shop This Room, I share a room or space I love and I pick out products that will help you get the look for yourself.

Elsewhere

{Monthly} Each month on mirror mirror I provide a Monthly Trend Report. I report on trends I see popping up and those I feel with continue in the long term. The Monthly Trend Report is posted the middle of each month. Be sure to check it out!

Each 3rd Wednesday of the month I will be visiting interior designer Sarah Sarna’s blog, Live The Life You Dream About. I’ll be sharing a unique boutique hotel in my column, Design Hotels.
